Kidney Function Interpretation

Formula Used

For men: CrCl = [(140 – age) × weight] / (72 × SCr)

For women: CrCl = [(140 – age) × weight] / (72 × SCr) × 0.85

Where SCr is serum creatinine in mg/dL, age in years, weight in kg

How it works:

  • Select your gender and enter your age
  • Enter your weight (can be in kg or lbs)
  • Enter your serum creatinine level (from blood test)
  • Click “Calculate Clearance” to see your estimated creatinine clearance rate
  • The results will show your kidney function level with interpretation

About Creatinine Clearance:

  • Creatinine clearance (CrCl) is a measure of how well the kidneys are filtering waste from the blood
  • It is calculated using the Cockcroft-Gault formula which estimates glomerular filtration rate (GFR)
  • Normal values are approximately 95-105 mL/min for women and 110-120 mL/min for men
  • Lower values may indicate impaired kidney function and should be discussed with a healthcare provider
